Meet the Heart Behind Autumn Mind Counseling
At Autumn Mind Counseling, each provider brings their own style, perspective, and lived experience to the therapeutic process. While our team is still growing, you’ll currently be welcomed by our founder, Autumn Holmes, whose compassionate and grounded approach helps clients feel understood and empowered in their healing journey.
Autumn Holmes, LPC — Owner and Counselor
Autumn is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the owner of Autumn Mind Counseling. She earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wyoming in 2023, following a Bachelor’s in Social Work in 2020.
Her work and volunteer experience before graduate school focused on supporting individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, as well as people with intellectual disabilities. These experiences shaped her empathy, advocacy, and dedication to trauma-informed care.
While gaining clinical experience in graduate school and her first post-graduate role, Autumn worked with diverse populations, including international students and LGBTQIA+ clients. After moving to Colorado in 2024, she continued in private practice before founding Autumn Mind Counseling—a space rooted in authenticity, growth, and compassion.
Autumn provides counseling for individuals aged 12 and older, as well as couples and families.
Her areas of focus include:
- Anxiety and depression
- Trauma and posttraumatic stress
- Relationship and communication concerns
- Body image and self-esteem
- Obsessive-compulsive symptoms and intrusive thoughts
- Life transitions and phase-of-life challenges
Autumn’s therapeutic approach is grounded in humanistic and Gestalt principles, focusing on present-moment awareness, self-understanding, and authentic connection. She also incorporates evidence-based techniques from other modalities to meet clients where they are, fostering insight, self-compassion, and lasting change.
Autumn believes that therapy works best when it feels like a genuine, collaborative relationship. Her goal is to create a space where you can explore who you are, understand what’s getting in your way, and reconnect with what brings meaning to your life.
Oliver — Certified Therapy Dog
Oliver is a six-year-old Golden Retriever and a beloved part of Autumn Mind Counseling. He’s a certified therapy dog and joins Autumn at work every day — offering comfort, warmth, and the occasional tail wag to brighten your session.
Gentle, calm, and friendly, Oliver often senses when someone needs a little extra support. He’s always happy to sit nearby, rest his head on your knee, or cuddle if invited. Many clients find his presence soothing and grounding during therapy.
Outside the office, Oliver loves playing ball, going for walks, and showing off his skills in his favorite game — the hide-and-seek treat game.
Oliver reminds us daily that healing can also come from connection, play, and unconditional love.
